Early Dismissals and Absences

NSHS Recognized as One of the Nation’s Best!
North Smithfield High School has been recognized as one of the nation’s best public high schools in the 2026–2027 U.S. News Best High Schools rankings. NSHS earned a national ranking in the top of public high schools and was ranked among the leading high schools in Rhode Island for the 9th consecutive year!
This recognition reflects the hard work of our students, faculty, staff, and families. The rankings consider college readiness, state assessment performance, graduation rates, curriculum breadth, and how well schools support all students. We are proud of this national recognition and even prouder of the people who make North Smithfield High School such a special place to learn and grow.​
