The North Smithfield High School counseling department supports students as they plan for life after high school, whether that path includes college, career training, military service, employment, or another postsecondary option.

Students have access to a variety of college and career planning resources through the school counseling department, including SchooLinks, our Individual Learning Plan platform. SchooLinks helps students explore career interests, research colleges and programs, build plans for the future, and stay organized throughout the planning process.

Through college and career advising, students work toward developing the skills needed to:
  1. Explore careers and understand how their interests, strengths, and goals connect to future opportunities.
  2. Create plans for college, training, employment, or other postsecondary pathways.
  3. Understand the connection between personal qualities, education, training, and the workforce.

Our goal is to help students make thoughtful, informed decisions about their future and leave North Smithfield High School with a clear sense of direction.
