The North Smithfield School District is committed to supporting the health and well being of every student. Students have access to school counselors, a school social worker, and a school psychologist who can provide support, connect students with resources, and help them navigate personal, social, and emotional challenges.

Through social emotional support, students work on skills that help them:
  • Understand and respect themselves and others
  • Build healthy relationships and communication skills
  • Make thoughtful decisions
  • Set goals and take steps toward achieving them
  • Develop strategies for safety, problem solving, and self advocacy

Students who need support are encouraged to reach out to their school counselor or another trusted adult in the building.

Crisis Text Line
Students can text LISTEN to 741741 to connect with the Crisis Text Line, a free 24/7 support service.
