Please read the following policy regarding schedule changes carefully. It is of utmost importance that both parents and students give particular care to selecting courses that are deemed appropriate and, in the case of electives, of sincere interest to the student.
Every effort will be made to match students with the courses they have requested in accordance with what the school department is able to offer in the 2021-2022 academic year.
Please read the following policy regarding schedule changes carefully. It is of utmost importance that both parents and students give particular care to selecting courses that are deemed appropriate and, in the case of electives, of sincere interest to the student.
- Students must be registered for an approved course load at all times.
- All students will pick all courses with advice from teachers, parents, and school counselors. This should be a student-led discussion with input from supporters.
- The add/drop period for all students seeking to change an elective or a core course runs through the second week of the year for full year courses and through the second week of each semester for semester courses. During the add/drop period students seeking to change courses should follow the Guidance department add/drop process.
- Students seeking to change the level of a course will be allowed throughout the school year at the end of each marking period or as the result of an ET, IEP, or RtI meeting. A level change may be sought by a meeting that includes the student, the family, the school counselor, and an administrator.
- Students will not be allowed to change their schedules with the intent of changing teachers within the same level of an offering.
- The administration reserves the right to approve or deny all schedule changes based upon the unique needs of our students and the school as a whole.
Every effort will be made to match students with the courses they have requested in accordance with what the school department is able to offer in the 2021-2022 academic year.
